In accordance with the directives of Article 5.3 of the WHO FCTC, Chad adopted Decree 1523 of September 11, 2019 on the prevention of interference by the tobacco industry. The government has taken measures to protect public health policies.  This decree aims to prevent and combat the interference of the tobacco industry in health policies. As such, the provisions of this decree cover the following aspects: principles and rules, conflicts of interest, and relations between public administrations. Other issues related to the type of treatment to be given to the tobacco industry are also taken into account.
