Mexico has been a Party to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) since February 27, 2005. While tobacco control policies are enacted through the General Law on Tobacco Control, the tobacco industry is generally able to participate in development of tobacco control policies, partner with government agencies for corporate social responsibility activities, and are not disallowed from providing contributions/gifts to the government.
