Chile became a Party to the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control on September 11, 2005. Since 2008, Chile allows everyone to be informed of meetings, hearings, trips and gifts that private companies have made with authorities or government officials. In 2014, the Lobby Law was signed obliging companies and institutions to register their lobbyists and managers of interest in a special register.
