The 2020 Nigeria Tobacco Industry Interference Report takes a cursory look at the industry participation in policy development in the country, industry’s CSR activities, benefits to the tobacco industry, unnecessary interaction between the industry and Government officials, transparency in dealings with the industry, conflict of interest and preventive measures among others. The report covers the 2018 and 2019 period.

Conversely, the United Kingdom, Uganda, and Iran emerge as countries with the least industry meddling, according to a first-ever report to systematically assess levels of industry influence in countries, by the watchdog group STOP (Stopping Tobacco Organizations and Products).
